Anchorage Digital Bank and tokenisation platform Securitize have announced a strategic partnership designed to streamline the minting and redemption process for stablecoins. By integrating their services, the two firms aim to bridge the gap between digital asset infrastructure and the rigorous standards required by institutional investors.

Under the new arrangement, Securitize will bypass traditional intermediaries to interact directly with Anchorage Digital Bank. This direct line allows for the minting and redemption of stablecoins issued by the bank, which also provides the necessary custody and settlement services. The collaboration is intended to ensure that the dollar-denominated side of tokenised trades maintains the same level of counterparty and custody security that institutions currently demand for their securities holdings.

Institutional Standards for Tokenised Assets

The partnership addresses a long-standing challenge in the digital asset space: the disparity between the high security standards applied to securities and the often less-regulated nature of the cash side of transactions. By utilizing Anchorage Digital Bank—a federally chartered US bank—Securitize can offer its clients access to digital dollars held in segregated accounts at a national trust bank.

Securitize, which is listed on the NYSE, currently manages over USD 4 billion in assets on its platform. Its infrastructure supports tokenised funds from major financial institutions, including BlackRock, KKR, BNY, Apollo, Hamilton Lane, and VanEck. According to Carlos Domingo, Chairman and CEO of Securitize, the partnership is a critical step toward the company’s vision of transitioning all stocks, bonds, and funds into digital assets, a process that requires the dollar component to meet institutional-grade oversight.

Market Growth and Regulatory Oversight

The demand for this level of integration is supported by the rapid expansion of the tokenised real-world asset (RWA) market. Data from rwa.xyz indicates that the sector grew from approximately USD 23 billion at the end of 2025 to USD 31 billion by March 2026. Anchorage Digital notes that this growth is largely driven by institutions seeking the same strict custody standards for cash that they already apply to their securities portfolios.

Anchorage Digital Bank has established itself as a key player in stablecoin issuance, working with partners such as Ethena Labs for the USDtb stablecoin and Tether for the USAT stablecoin. The bank’s commitment to transparency is highlighted by its reserve reports; for instance, approximately 99% of the USD 530 million in reserves for USDtb are held in BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, which is itself tokenised by Securitize.

Nathan McCauley, Co-Founder and CEO of Anchorage Digital, emphasised that the bank was specifically designed to facilitate stablecoin issuance at scale under federal oversight. By providing a regulated environment for these transactions, the partnership aims to remove the friction that has historically prevented tokenisation from reaching full institutional adoption.
