Kids (1995): The Wake Up Call You’ll Never Forget

Kids (1995) is a controversial film directed by Larry Clark and written by Harmony Korine. Set in New York City, it follows a group of teenagers over the course of one chaotic day. The film features breakout performances from the late Justin Pierce and Harold Hunter, both real skaters, and many other prominent figures. In this video, I revisit the impact and legacy of Kids as well as the follow up documentary 'We Were Once Kids,' which expands a bit more on the lives of the actors and the making of the film. 30 years later this story still resonates, both as a wake-up call and a time capsule of the 90s, and will forever remain one of my favorites.
