Vote counting has officially commenced across 365 designated centres in Andhra Pradesh for the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections, supported by high-security deployments.
The rural body elections drew significant voter turnout despite challenges from adverse weather conditions and localized incidents of violence. In districts such as Krishna and NTR alone, authorities deployed over 4,000 security personnel to maintain order throughout the tallying process.
While counting proceeds across the state, election schedules experienced disruptions in select regions. Specifically, polling across four Andhra mandals faced postponements due to heavy downpours associated with Cyclone Murasu.
