Australia Proposes Katherine Bennell-Pegg for 2028 Space Station Mission

The Australian federal government has formally offered astronaut Katherine Bennell-Pegg for a spaceflight to the International Space Station, targeting a 2028 mission.

The proposal was sent to the European Space Agency. If the mission proceeds, Bennell-Pegg—who also serves as the Australian of the Year—would make history by becoming the first astronaut to travel to space representing the Australian flag.
