A British father has been fined €3,000 for causing the death of his two-year-old son in a hotel fall in Cyprus. Joshua Foster, 37, from Essex, was on holiday with his family at the five-star King Evelthon Beach Hotel and Resort in Chlorakas when the incident occurred on 12 July. Foster had placed his son on a window sill to show him the view of a waterpark, believing the window to be closed, but lost control of him. The toddler fell nearly 40ft (12.1m) to his death. Foster had previously admitted causing death through a reckless, rash or dangerous act. He was sentenced on Friday morning and has since expressed gratitude for the support of his family and community.
