TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has publicly pushed back against a published report indicating he is organizing another campaign for the White House.

On Friday, The Washington Post published a report citing an anonymous source claiming DeSantis had reached out to a national political consultant regarding a future presidential bid. The soon-to-be-former governor, whose term ends as Governor-elect Byron Donalds prepares to take office, quickly disputed the claims.

Taking to social media on Friday evening, DeSantis dismissed the story entirely. “The Washington Post is fabricating this out of whole cloth,” DeSantis wrote, adding that he had not contacted anyone regarding a run for office and criticizing the publication.
