Greens Leader Denies Knowledge of ‘Secret Dossier’ Regarding Senator Steele-John

Greens leader David Shoebridge has publicly rejected claims that his office was involved with or aware of a confidential document concerning misconduct allegations against Senator Jordon Steele-John. The denial follows media reports alleging the existence of a 47-page "secret dossier" that purportedly outlined strategies for managing and suppressing public coverage of the claims.

Allegations and Official Response

The document in question, reportedly drafted in 2016, allegedly details misconduct allegations directed at the Western Australian senator. Reports from Nine newspapers suggest the file contained internal guidance on how the party should respond to potential media inquiries regarding the matter.

Addressing the reports on Thursday, Shoebridge stated that the document was neither created, utilized, nor viewed by his office. He emphasized that the party is treating the situation with seriousness, noting that the matter has been formally referred to the parliamentary standards commission for independent review.

The referral to the commission marks the latest development in the ongoing scrutiny surrounding the senator’s conduct and the party’s internal handling of historical allegations.
