SEOUL — The recent rain cancellation of South Korea's professional baseball postseason games has left illicit ticket buyers facing severe financial losses without any recourse for refunds, according to reports by Chosun Ilbo.

During the fall baseball series, matches delayed or postponed due to rain triggered complications for individuals who purchased tickets through unauthorized secondary channels. Because these transactions violate official ticketing guidelines, buyers who paid inflated premium prices to scalpers found themselves unable to secure refunds for the canceled matchups.

Despite the implementation of anti-ticket scalping legislation, online platforms continue to see illegal practices such as price collusion and high-priced ticket resales. In response to the ongoing illicit market activity, police and relevant authorities have initiated formal investigations.
