FBI and local authorities rescue 17-year-old Kylie Arellano and arrest a 39-year-old man
A 17-year-old girl who vanished from Utah last year has been located safely in Oregon, law enforcement officials announced. Kylie Arellano had been the subject of an extensive search since disappearing from Garden City, Utah.
Authorities executed a rescue operation last Sunday, bringing an end to the multi-jurisdictional investigation. The operation was a collaborative effort involving Oregon law enforcement, the Rich County Sheriff's Office in Utah, and the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office.
Following the rescue, a 39-year-old man was taken into custody in connection with the case. As the investigation continues, federal officials have issued broader warnings regarding the online targeting and exploitation of children by illicit groups.
