A newly launched spacecraft has begun an ambitious journey toward the Martian system with the ultimate goal of returning a tiny sample of material from one of the Red Planet's moons back to Earth.
Mission Aims to Retrieve Martian Moon Dust
Space agencies and researchers will track the spacecraft's transit as it navigates the deep-space voyage toward the Martian orbit, where it will eventually attempt the delicate sample-collection phase before embarking on the return trip to Earth.
