Parts of Jet’s Tail Found Far From South Florida Crash Site

Investigators examining a fatal airplane crash in South Florida have recovered components of the aircraft’s tail more than a mile away from the main wreckage site, according to federal safety officials.

During a news conference on Tuesday, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) member Tom Chapman announced that the tail sections were discovered broken into three separate pieces. Chapman stated that this significant distribution of debris confirms the aircraft was disintegrating in midair before it ultimately impacted the ground.

The ongoing federal investigation aims to determine the underlying cause of the structural breakup. Authorities continue to examine the recovered components and analyze available data to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the accident in South Florida.
