Multiple Fatalities in Jordan Church Shooting

At least seven people were killed and 10 others injured in a shooting at a church in central Jordan on Friday. The attack occurred during a funeral in the Karak governorate, with the gunmen opening fire on mourners inside the church before fleeing the scene.

According to eyewitness Khaled Burqan, who was among those attending the funeral, the attackers arrived in a car and began shooting with a rifle and a pistol for several minutes. The chaotic aftermath of the attack was captured in footage, showing several dead and wounded bodies on the ground.

Jordan's government has condemned the attack, with government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani describing it as "heinous." Security forces have been deployed to the area, and a news briefing by interior ministry officials is expected shortly.
