A fatal shooting occurred Wednesday morning at a Tampa office campus, leaving two people dead, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The violence unfolded when an armed man entered the Citibank Center and opened fire.
The victim killed in the attack was identified as 41-year-old LeAnne Selman of Palm Harbor, a nine-year employee of Citibank. Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister stated that Selman, who worked in human resources as a learning advisor for Citi security investigative services, was shot three times immediately after the gunman entered. When the suspect's firearm malfunctioned, he retrieved a handgun from his vehicle, returned to Selman as she attempted to crawl away, and killed her.
The incident at the corporate campus resulted in a total of two fatalities by Wednesday afternoon. Local law enforcement scheduled a news conference to provide further updates regarding the investigation into the shooting at the Citibank building.
