Carlton Secures Chris Fagan as Director of Coaching

In a significant boost to their football department, the Carlton Football Club has officially appointed triple-premiership figure Chris Fagan as their new Director of Coaching. The move marks a major coup for the Blues, who successfully navigated a competitive multi-team race to secure Fagan’s services ahead of the 2027 season.

A Strategic Alignment

Fagan, who previously served as a senior coach for a decade, will work closely with senior coach Josh Fraser to oversee the development of players and staff. The veteran coach noted that the decision to join Carlton was driven by the clear, shared vision presented by the club’s leadership, including Rob Wiley, Graham Wright, Chris Judd, and Fraser.

“In all my conversations... what resonated strongly was how aligned they were on how to make Carlton a great football club,” Fagan said. He described the opportunity to focus on supporting individuals to reach their full potential as a role “too good to pass up.”

For the Blues, the appointment is a cornerstone of their efforts to reload their football department and evolve into a consistent premiership contender. Fagan is expected to begin his duties immediately, focusing on fostering a high-performance culture within the club.
