United States President Donald Trump announced a major leadership shake-up in the White House, naming adviser Stephen Miller as his new chief of staff days after the Republican Party suffered losses in the midterm elections.

Trump revealed the transition on Friday via his Truth Social account, describing Miller as one of his most trusted advisors. Miller, who has served as a close confidant and adviser across both of Trump's presidential terms, is set to assume the role on Monday. He succeeds Susie Wiles, whom Trump announced is transitioning to the Trump Political Operation.

As chief of staff, Miller steps into the position following midterm elections where border security and hardline deportation policies—areas where Miller served as the primary architect—remained central rallying points for the administration. Following the midterm outcomes, Democrats are widely anticipated to pursue investigations involving Miller when they assume control of both the US House of Representatives and the Senate in January.
