Donald Trump’s newly appointed White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia, stated in an interview published on Thursday that the extent of her future dealings with the media and the frequency of press briefings remain "unknown."
The remarks follow a rocky introduction to the role for Zacharia, who stepped in to replace predecessor Karoline Leavitt. Just days into her tenure, Zacharia's debut press briefing drew widespread scrutiny, and she has faced ongoing questions regarding her legal credentials and background.
Addressing the rapid transition during her interview with The Guardian, Zacharia described the sprint to take over the administration's chief spokesperson position. Earlier reporting from The New York Times highlighted public confusion over whether Zacharia is a licensed attorney, following a briefing where her answers regarding her bar admission in China drew widespread attention.
