UBS Sees 27% Surge in Pre-Tax Profits in Q3

Swiss banking giant UBS has reported a significant increase in pre-tax profits for the third quarter, reaching almost $3.6 billion, a 27% jump from the same period last year. This growth is largely in line with market expectations, according to recent forecasts.

The bank's strong performance can be attributed to substantial net inflows into its global wealth management business, with net new assets reaching $55.1 billion by the end of the quarter. This influx of new assets has contributed to the bank's overall growth, with client commitments totaling $12.5 billion across its wealth management and asset management businesses.

UBS's common equity tier (CET) 1 capital ratio, a key measure of a bank's solvency, also saw an increase to 14.7% during the quarter, up from 14.4% in the previous quarter. The bank's net profits for the third quarter came in at $2.7 billion, aligning with estimates.
