Two Vehicle Landmarks Removed from Kelowna's Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park In a collaborative effort, two "legacy car wrecks" were recently removed from Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park in Kelowna. On October 21, Friends of the South Slopes (FOSS) and the Okanagan Forest Task Force (OFTF) worked together to remove the vehicles, which had been placed in the park since its establishment in 2001. The two teams used specialized equipment to carefully extract the vehicles, a 1980s Honda Civic and a 1960s GM sedan, from their locations. The Honda Civic was removed from a ravine adjacent to the Myra Wetlands along Fairland Loop, while the GM sedan was located near Rose Lookout, resting on its roof. Following the removal, FOSS reported that both sites have been thoroughly cleaned up, with some minor future remediation planned to ensure all remnants of the vehicles are cleared out. The removal of these vehicle landmarks is a step towards maintaining the park's pristine condition.
