Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak previewed the event on the platform X, and specialist portals report that the rollout will include morning press releases alongside a media hands-on event in Los Angeles. The planned hardware updates span several product lines, focusing heavily on integrating touch controls and OLED technology.
Key Hardware Updates Expected
The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are reportedly set to receive OLED panels with touch functionality, supported by reinforced display hinges and adjustments within the macOS 27 operating system. Additionally, the traditional screen notch is expected to be replaced by the Dynamic Island seen on iPhones. Processor configurations will vary, with the new OLED touch models utilizing M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, while a 14-inch entry-level MacBook Pro model is slated to receive an M6 processor upgrade while retaining its current design and Mini-LED display.
Beyond the laptops, the 24-inch iMac is expected to transition to the M6 chip while keeping its external design. Furthermore, the eighth-generation iPad mini is anticipated to join the hardware wave, featuring an 8.4-inch LTPS hybrid OLED display, an A20 or A20 Pro chip, a landscape-oriented front camera, and a vibration-based speaker system designed to replace traditional openings for improved water resistance.
