A Sooke photographer has earned top international honors, securing the 2026 Photographer of the Year title at the Exposure One Awards.
Pascale Isabelle Navarro, who operates the photography teaching business Foto Rando, received the prestigious black-and-white photography distinction for an image captured at a night market in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The award-winning photograph—snapped during a milestone trip celebrating her 50th birthday—features a woman looking at her phone alongside a cat positioned on a table.
Reflecting on the international recognition, Navarro noted that she only began entering competitive contests roughly a year ago. She expressed humility regarding the competition, highlighting the exceptional talent displayed across the field.
