US Secret Service Helping Track Funds Stolen in Massive Binance Crypto Hack

The US Secret Service has stepped in to help track digital funds stolen during a staggering $6.3bn (£4.7bn) security incident at cryptocurrency giant Binance. The breach, which unfolded on Thursday, is believed to be the largest crypto heist in history, eclipsing previous record-setting attacks.

According to Binance, early investigations indicate that a compromised engineer's laptop may have enabled the unauthorized withdrawals on Binance.com. In response to the massive breach, the world's largest crypto exchange stated that it has successfully frozen about half of the affected assets with the assistance of partner platforms, and pledged to cover all customer losses.

Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs noted that elements of the attack resemble previous incidents linked to North Korea. Analysts and observers are continuing to monitor developments as law enforcement agencies and industry partners collaborate to trace the missing funds.
