Busted guitarist James Bourne has revealed that his younger brother, Chris, saved his life by donating a kidney after doctors warned him he had only a few years left to live.
Sharing an update on Monday, James expressed gratitude to his brother, calling him a "hero" and confirming that both are recovering well following the successful transplant procedure. Chris also acknowledged the milestone on social media, posting a brief message stating that they had completed the operation.
Bourne achieved major success in the early 2000s as a member of Busted alongside Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis, scoring a string of UK top 10 hits before the band initially split in 2005. The trio later reunited and have remained active in the pop-punk scene.
