Storm Boelo Leaves Thousands Without Power as Met Office Issues Fresh Wind Warnings

Storm Boelo continued to batter the UK with severe weather, leaving properties without power as the Met Office issued a new yellow weather warning for strong winds.

The severe conditions, which began over the weekend, have severely impacted infrastructure and travel. The Energy Networks Association (ENA) reported that harsh weather had left more than 90,000 properties without power as of 19:00 GMT on Sunday, with ongoing dangerous conditions delaying repairs as high winds limit safe working conditions for network engineers.

In response to the persistent hazards, the Met Office implemented a yellow warning for strong winds starting at 18:00 on Monday. The warning covers the west coast of England, Wales, Scotland, and eastern parts of Northern Ireland.

The storm has caused widespread disruption since Sunday, including flooding in town centres such as Largs and along sections of the A82 in Scotland. Authorities and transport operators continue to advise caution as rail, air, and ferry services face ongoing delays and cancellations.
