Donald Trump has hit back at former President Barack Obama after Obama humorously likened recent White House interior updates to a restaurant-style aesthetic.
The exchange unfolded as Trump defended his administration's decor choices following remarks from Obama, who joked that the executive mansion's new look resembled "Saddam Hussein opening a Cheesecake Factory." Trump fired back at his predecessor with verbal jabs before departing to board a flight for a scheduled political rally in Mississippi.
The sparring over interior design occurred amid a broader backdrop of domestic political developments and international headlines. The wider news cycle also captured statements from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday regarding strained supplies of Patriot interceptor missiles following delayed authorization from US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
