Members of the National Electoral Institute (INE) council have officially denied reports of unauthorized meetings with external suppliers. In a move to stabilize the institution during a period of leadership change, the council has implemented a temporary freeze on all new service contracts.
The decision follows a broader institutional shift characterized by the arrival of Blanca Cruz as a key figure in the organization’s administration. As part of this transition, the INE has initiated a review of its management structure, explicitly rejecting the influence of personal loyalties in favor of institutional continuity and transparency.
This administrative pivot has already resulted in the resignation of three high-level officials, with further personnel changes not being ruled out. The council maintains that these actions are necessary to ensure that the institute operates under a framework of strict collegiality and fiscal responsibility as it navigates its current internal reorganization.
