Employers across the UK will soon be legally required to include salary information on all job advertisements, following an announcement by Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
Empowering Jobseekers and Closing the Pay Gap
The upcoming legislation is designed to give both current employees and prospective jobseekers greater transparency during the hiring process. Workers’ rights advocates have welcomed the move, noting that mandatory wage disclosures on listings will especially benefit women and young people by fostering more equitable pay outcomes.
The government plans to implement the new legal requirement as part of broader efforts to modernise workplace standards and strengthen employment rights.
