La Fundación ”la Caixa” has announced financial support for 80 new projects focused on medical research and biomedical innovation, according to Europa Press and related reports. The funding aims to advance scientific breakthroughs across various health sectors, including novel therapies and advanced medical technologies.

Among the selected initiatives to receive financial backing are targeted studies addressing rare cancers, the development of a DNA vaccine designed to combat antibiotic-resistant "superbacteria," and projects aimed at improving the control and treatment of conditions like strongyloidiasis. Academic and research centers, such as the Cima Universidad de Navarra, have secured multiple grants from this funding round to further their specialized laboratories' work.

The annual grants provided by the foundation seek to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical application, ensuring promising innovations can progress toward practical healthcare solutions.
