Digital-Only Distribution
Because Rockstar Games is not offering a traditional physical disc release, players must download the entire game. Even if purchased through a retailer, the box will contain only a digital code. To help manage the load, Rockstar will allow players to begin preloading the game on November 12, one week before the official launch.
Download Times by NBN Tier
The time required to download 210GB depends heavily on your NBN speed tier. For those on an NBN 12 plan, the download could take nearly two full days of continuous connection. Upgrading to an NBN 100 plan reduces that time to just under five hours, while users on an NBN 500 plan can expect the download to finish in under an hour.
WhistleOut recommends that users on FTTN, FTTC, or FTTB connections aim for an NBN 100 plan, while those with FTTP or HFC technology may benefit from NBN 500 or faster tiers to ensure a smoother experience on launch day.
