Nottingham Forest climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone but were left frustrated by missed opportunities in a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Oliver Glasner's visiting side controlled much of the opening period and took a deserved 13th-minute lead. Neco Williams converted a right-wing cross from Daniel Munoz at the back post to register his first goal for Forest since April. Forest continued to press, with Christian Walton denying the returning Morgan Gibbs-White and Leif Davis clearing an effort off the line.

However, Ipswich punished a defensive error shortly before halftime. Nikola Milenkovic played a short backpass in the 41st minute, allowing Julio Enciso to intercept and finish past Matz Sels for his first goal since joining Ipswich in the summer.

The match featured a major VAR review early in the second half when Forest midfielder James McAtee was brought down by Ipswich defender Issa Diop while charging toward goal. Referee Thomas Bramall initially played on, but after reviewing the pitchside monitor for a potential red card denying a goalscoring opportunity, Bramall issued a yellow card and a free-kick, ruling that McAtee had knocked the ball toward the right side of the goal.

Buoyed by the decision, Forest created several scoring chances after the break. Murillo headed a corner wide, Dan Ndoye had a shot cleared off the line by Davis, and former Ipswich striker Liam Delap missed from close range alongside a low effort wide. Late pressure also saw Callum Hudson-Odoi miss the target, while Gary O'Neil's Ipswich side threatened through a late curling attempt by Jack Clarke.

The draw moves Nottingham Forest up to 16th place in the Premier League table with six points, while Ipswich Town sits comfortably in ninth.
