Job vacancies have fallen as small businesses across the economy scale back their recruitment efforts, according to official figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Data highlights that smaller companies are pulling back on hiring new staff due to financial pressures. Among the primary reasons cited by these firms for curbing recruitment are rising labour costs.

The trend points to a cooling job market as businesses adjust to economic conditions and the expense of maintaining and expanding their workforces.
