New York Attorney General Letitia James has named Jacqueline Kelly, a former federal prosecutor who worked on the Sean “Diddy” Combs case, to lead a criminal investigation into sexual assault allegations at Cornell University stemming from a 2024 incident.
James announced the appointment on Wednesday, selecting Kelly to serve as outside counsel for the inquiry. Kelly, a Cornell alumna and the former chief of the civil rights unit in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, will oversee what the attorney general's office described as a fair and comprehensive criminal investigation. She will report directly to James.
