Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has revealed his intention to continue racing into the early 2030s to fulfill a personal ambition of competing in an African Grand Prix.
Formula One recently confirmed that Rwanda secured a 10-year agreement to host an African Grand Prix on a purpose-built circuit in Bugesera, located south of Kigali. The event, scheduled for the early 2030s, marks Formula One's return to the African continent for the first time since South Africa hosted a race at Kyalami in 1993.
Addressing the upcoming destination, the 41-year-old seven-time world champion stated that racing in Africa remains a long-held dream. Hamilton also expressed his support for the sport hosting a grand prix in Rwanda, despite external criticisms directed at the nation's human rights record.
