Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage experienced a frustrating loss against his former club as the Eagles fell 3-2 to Lyon in their first away fixture of the Europa League campaign.
Playing in France, the Premier League side struggled to meet expectations during the opening stages, allowing Lyon to build a commanding lead. Despite a spirited second-half comeback attempt that saw Palace narrow the deficit, the French side held on to secure all three points.
Following the match, a candid Sage admitted his team was "really far off" the required performance level. The defeat leaves Crystal Palace looking to regroup as they continue their European journey.
