Aston Villa inflict Man City's first Premier League defeat of the season
Aston Villa inflicted Manchester City's first Premier League defeat of the season with a 2-1 win at Villa Park on Sunday.
Nicolas Jackson scored twice for Aston Villa, either side of an Erling Haaland header, to secure a crucial victory for the hosts. The win moves Aston Villa up the Premier League table, while Manchester City's perfect start to the season comes to an end.
The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating chances throughout. However, it was Aston Villa who ultimately emerged victorious, thanks to Jackson's two goals. The win is a significant boost for Aston Villa, who had been struggling to find consistency in the league this season.
Manchester City, on the other hand, will be disappointed with their first defeat of the season. The team will look to bounce back from this loss and continue their title challenge.
