Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra smartphones may address a major drawback of the company's Privacy Display feature, according to recent reports.

Introduced earlier this year with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the Privacy Display capability allows users to obscure their screen contents from individuals viewing from adjacent angles. While widely praised as an innovative addition upon its debut, the feature faced criticism for significantly reducing image quality and display brightness, particularly when set to maximum privacy levels.

Citing information from 9to5Google, upcoming high-end devices in the Galaxy S27 lineup are expected to feature enhanced display brightness alongside the privacy function. Although specific technical details remain limited, brighter panels could make the privacy settings far more practical for everyday use in social or public environments where users require screen protection for extended periods.

However, the display upgrade will reportedly be limited to the Pro and Ultra models, leaving the standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus without the technology. Samsung typically unveils its flagship device lineup early in the year—usually in January or February—though an official release date has not yet been confirmed.
