Meteorologists have issued a yellow severe weather warning as Storm Austen approaches, marking the first named storm of the season.
According to the Met Office, while Tuesday and Wednesday will see scattered rain and showers across various regions, the new system is projected to reach the south-west of the UK by Thursday. Forecasters anticipate high winds with gusts reaching up to 60mph in southern areas toward the end of the week.
