Liverpool is preparing to welcome a vast new 100,000-square-foot Beatles visitor attraction, slated to open its doors in 2028. The upcoming project has received high praise, with Paul McCartney calling the plans “extraordinary” and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham commending the development for having “the kind of ambition I want to see more of across Britain.”
Upgrade and Official Ownership
The development marks a massive expansion and relocation for the existing Beatles Story museum, which originally opened at Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock in 1990. Under the new plans, ownership of the attraction will transfer to Apple Corps, the band's official company. This transition will establish the revamped venue as the first official fan experience dedicated to the band in their home city.
In addition to the museum's relocation and upgrade, the ambitious project includes a Yellow Submarine-themed makeover for Liverpool's second-tallest building, further cementing the city's musical heritage.
