Three arrested after allegedly stolen car driven wildly across Brisbane suburbs

Police have charged three people in connection with a series of armed robberies involving a stolen vehicle that was driven erratically across multiple Brisbane suburbs.

The incident began on Friday afternoon when police were called to a home in Kuraby, in Brisbane's south, after reports of a man and a woman threatening a female resident with a knife and attempting to steal a vehicle. It is alleged that the same offenders were involved in an attempted armed robbery in Sunnybank Hills earlier in the day.

The stolen vehicle, a black Haval H6, was allegedly taken from a car wash in Goodna on Wednesday. It was spotted in Waterford at around 5pm, prompting a police helicopter to begin tracking its movements.

Police video shows the vehicle driving recklessly through several suburbs, including Forest Lake, Sumner Park, Corinda, and Indooroopilly. At one point, the car narrowly avoided a cyclist while driving through a service station.

A tyre deflation device was used to stop the vehicle in Milton at 6:13pm, and it came to a stop on Gailey Road in the neighbouring suburb of St Lucia seven minutes later. Two women and a man were taken into custody.

A 26-year-old woman from Morningside, a 22-year-old woman from Kingston, and a 24-year-old man from Forest Lake have been charged with multiple offences, including armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. They are due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Police are appealing for any witnesses, including those with relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
