U.S. President Donald Trump instructed White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia to reconsider her position just one week after she was appointed to the role, according to confirmation from a White House official.
Al Jazeera and CBC News reported that Zacharia is now "transitioning out" of the position following the directive from the president. The abrupt shift comes shortly after her initial appointment, though further details regarding the reasons behind the transition have not yet been detailed by administration officials.
