UK Deploys Jets to Defend Saudi Arabia Amid Escalating Houthi Attacks

The United Kingdom has announced it will provide additional defensive military support to Saudi Arabia, deploying fighter jets to help safeguard the kingdom against escalating aerial attacks from Houthi forces in the region.

The announcement follows a surge in security concerns that has also impacted daily operations and major events in Saudi Arabia. Riyadh recently postponed its flagship Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference—widely known as "Davos in the Desert"—from its scheduled October dates to 2027. Additionally, government agencies and major financial districts in the capital have instructed personnel to shift to remote work.
