Ukraine disputes Trump's claim that Starlink restrictions have been lifted Ukraine's military has contradicted US President Donald Trump's assertion that the restrictions on Starlink, a satellite service used by the country for military purposes, have been lifted. The service, which is owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX, has been operating at a reduced capacity, limiting Ukraine's ability to use drones and air defence systems. According to Ukrainian officials, the restrictions have crippled key air defences and rendered many drones inoperable. The US president had claimed on Thursday that the service was running at full speed, but a European official has denied this, stating that the service is still operating at a cap of 161km/hr. The dispute has sparked a war of words between the Trump administration, Ukrainian officials, and Elon Musk, with Trump initially denying any responsibility for the changes to Starlink. He stated that the US military and ultimately the President of the United States (POTUS) make decisions regarding the service, and that Musk's company is private and not subject to presidential direction.
