Teenager Dies Following Loganholme Drive-By Shooting

A 19-year-old woman has died in hospital, days after being critically wounded in a drive-by shooting south of Brisbane. Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau, from Jimboomba, passed away at the Princess Alexandra Hospital following the attack at Fitzys Loganholme on Saturday night.

Homicide Investigation Underway

The incident occurred during a boxing event at the venue, where two masked suspects opened fire, striking four people. While Ms. Schuster-Togiatau suffered fatal injuries to her head and neck, three men—Zachary Uchtman, Brodie Blackwood, and Kane Barrett—were also hospitalized. Two of the men have since been discharged, while one remains under medical care.

Queensland Police have officially upgraded the case to a homicide investigation. Detective Inspector Ian Galpin stated that approximately 80 detectives are currently working to identify the suspects, who remain at large. Authorities have not ruled out gang involvement as a potential motive for the shooting.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding the identity of the shooters or the circumstances surrounding the attack to come forward. Detective Inspector Galpin praised the bystanders who provided immediate first aid at the scene, describing the environment as "hectic and confusing."

Logan City Mayor Jon Raven expressed his condolences to the victim's family and the local community. A fundraising page established to support Ms. Schuster-Togiatau’s family has already raised over $53,000.
