Former England, Wolves, Everton, and Leicester defender Conor Coady has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33.
Coady shared the news via an Instagram post on Friday morning, writing simply: "Lived the dream. Eternally Grateful, Thank you." His retirement follows a 15-year playing career that began at his boyhood club, Liverpool, and included stints with Sheffield United, Huddersfield, Wolves, Everton, Leicester, Wrexham, and Charlton.
A Decorated Career at Wolves and Beyond
The defender is best remembered for his enduring spell at Molineux, where he made 317 appearances in all competitions for Wolves. After helping the club secure the Championship title in the 2017/18 season, Coady went on to miss just one Premier League match across the next four campaigns.
At the international level, Coady earned 10 senior caps for England between 2020 and 2022. He was included in Gareth Southgate's squads for both Euro 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, though he did not feature on the pitch during either tournament.
