ROME — Gennaro Gattuso’s Lazio secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Cagliari at the Stadio Olimpico, capitalizing on Inter's derby defeat to claim sole possession of the Serie A summit.

The match began with the visitors taking the initiative when M'Bala Nzola broke the deadlock with a close-range finish following an attack down the right flank. Lazio fought back before halftime through Gustav Isaksen, who leveled the score with a stunning curling left-footed strike into the top corner.

After the break, the hosts dominated possession and completed the turnaround in the 83rd minute. Isaksen delivered a cross from the right that was deflected by Pedraza into the path of Andrea Pinamonti, who turned it home from close range with a header. Cagliari's frustrations grew late in the game, culminating in a second yellow card and subsequent red for defender Obert in the 91st minute for a challenge on Isaksen.

The 2-1 result marks Lazio's sixth consecutive league victory, lifting them to the top of the Serie A standings.
