Louis Oosthuizen Says It Is Time to Move On From LIV Golf

Golfer Louis Oosthuizen has stated that it is time to move on from the breakaway tour following a four-year stint, becoming part of the LIV Golf exodus ahead of the Hong Kong Open. Players face a deadline of Sunday to decide on committing to a new iteration of the circuit, which secured a potential US$300 million from investment firm BC Partners Credit to plan a 2027 season.

Reflecting on Career Goals

Oosthuizen, who celebrated his 44th birthday on Monday, noted that he is currently at a different stage in his life. Having experienced past success at majors, he emphasized that the motivation to work and play stems from wanting another opportunity to contend at that level, while managing the mental challenge of competing against world-class players.

Recent Activities in Hong Kong

Ahead of the tournament, Oosthuizen spent time off the course on Monday evening. Accompanied by his wife and friends, he visited the Michelin-starred Beefbar restaurant in Central, noting that the group of nine enjoyed a fun outing together.
