Prisoner on the Run: Manhunt Launched in South London
A manhunt is underway in south London after a prisoner escaped from a medical facility in Lewisham. Anthony Lloyd, 38, was last seen on Friday afternoon, and police warn that he poses a risk to both himself and the public.
According to the Metropolitan police, Lloyd forced his way out of the health unit in Lewisham at around 4pm on Friday. He was seen heading in the direction of Catford, and police are urging the public not to approach him if spotted. Instead, they should contact 999 immediately.
Lloyd was convicted in 2025 of actual bodily harm and received a 12-month custodial sentence. He was transferred to the medical facility in Lewisham in September. The 38-year-old is described as white, 5ft 8in, of medium build, with short dark hair, wearing a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers.
Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley is leading the manhunt, saying, "We are conducting various significant inquiries to find Lloyd and return him to custody. We are concerned he poses a risk both to himself and the public, and would urge anyone who sees him to call 999 immediately. Do not approach him."
Lloyd has links to several areas, including Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside. Anyone with information is asked to contact police as a matter of urgency, quoting reference CAD4739/23Oct.
