Partial election results in Israel indicate that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing bloc has taken a narrow lead as ballots continue to be tallied across the country. However, with approximately 85% of votes counted, neither Netanyahu's camp nor the opposition "change bloc" led by Gadi Eisenkot has secured the numbers required to command a majority in the 120-seat Knesset.
According to current tallies, Netanyahu's Likud party and its political allies are positioned to win 53 seats, leaving them short of the outright majority needed to easily form a government. Meanwhile, parties representing Israel's Arab minority have captured a record number of seats, with leaders expressing openness to negotiations with Jewish opposition figures regarding government formation.
With official vote counting underway and absentee ballots still processing, political analysts anticipate weeks of complex coalition negotiations ahead as both sides attempt to break the parliamentary deadlock.
