During the November 3 US midterm elections, several candidates of Pakistani descent achieved notable victories across multiple state legislatures, reflecting growing political representation.

In Connecticut, Democrat Maryam Khan won the State Senate seat for District 2 with roughly 79% of the vote against Republican Timothy Knotts, while incumbent Senator Saud Anwar retained his District 3 seat by securing about 66% against Eliott Hughes. Texas saw the successful re-election of Democratic state Representatives Salman Bhojani in District 92 and Suleman Lalani in District 76, both maintaining approximately 67% vote shares. In Georgia, Democrat Farooq Mughal reclaimed a State House seat in District 105 with 60.8% of the vote, and Democrat Hanadi Nadeem retained her position in Nevada’s State Assembly District 34.

Meanwhile, races elsewhere showed mixed outcomes. In Pennsylvania, Democrat Meriam Sabih held a narrow lead over Republican incumbent Milou Mackenzie in House District 131 with most votes counted, pending an official call. Conversely, Pakistani-origin Republican candidate Imtiaz Mohammad lost his bid for the Florida House of Representatives.

These contests took place alongside federal congressional midterms, focusing on state-level senates and assemblies. All reported outcomes remain unofficial until final vote counts and state certifications are completed.
