Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has received regulatory approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to delay the election of its board of directors. The company, which cited specific impediments in its report to the regulator, is now permitted to conduct the election within 90 days of the original due date.
AGM Proceeding Without Board Elections
The company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is set to take place as scheduled on October 21, 2026. While the meeting will address all other standard business items, the election of directors—previously listed as Agenda Item No. 3—has been formally excluded from the day's proceedings. To ensure continuity in corporate governance, the current retiring directors will remain in their roles until their successors are officially elected.
The SECP’s decision follows the company’s filing under Section 158(2) of the Companies Act, 2017. Investors are advised to review the official Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) filing for comprehensive details regarding the company's operational status and future meeting schedules.
