Sabalenka Opens China Campaign Following Miami Success
Aryna Sabalenka has stated she is making a strong effort to treat herself with more leniency. The remarks came as she commenced her China Open tournament journey with a win against Renata Zarazua. Her previous title victory occurred in March at the Miami Open.
The player will conclude a year without securing a Grand Slam trophy for the initial time since 2022. Throughout matches, she has frequently faced difficulties in managing her on-court frustrations and emotions.
Doubles and Singles Action at the Event
In the doubles competition, the British duo of Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool progressed further into the tournament. They secured a 6-3, 6-4 win against the Russian pair of Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov.
Additionally, a competitor will play on Saturday for a place in the quarter-finals. That upcoming match will pit them against either the Chinese player Shang Juncheng or the German US Open champion Alexander Zverev.
